An important step forward for the Eurofighter Programme has been
achieved on the 13th of March 2002. The Italian prototype
DA3 has performed two shots of gun firing on ground at the Airbase of
Decimomannu in Sardinia.
All the aircraft systems worked correctly throughout the test and the operational test procedure that includes also all the safety aspects of the trial proved its validity and effectiveness. The gun shots did not cause any problems to the aircraft systems that continue to work as expected. The complete set of FTI parameters for the gun vibration survey (more than 100) were successfully recorded in real time -----------------------------------------------------------------
Un ulteriore e importante obiettivo è stato raggiunto per il successo del programma Eurofighter. Il giorno 13 marzo il prototipo italiano DA3 ha sparato due raffiche col cannone di bordo ancorato sulla piazzuola di tiro del Poligono di Decimomannu, in Sardegna. Tutti i sistemi di bordo hanno funzionato correttamente durante tutta la durata della prova; la procedura dei test che include anche gli aspetti di "safety" ha dimostrato la sua validità ed efficacia. Gli spari del cannone non hanno causato problemi di alcun genere ai sistemi di bordo che hanno continuato ad operare come previsto. Il set completo di parametri di prova per il controllo delle vibrazioni indotte (più di cento) è stato registrato con successo in tempo reale >
