After obtaining a significant success at the Asian Aerospace Exhibition in Singapore, on March 14 the military transport aircraft C-27J (NC4115) completed its demotour in the Far and Middle East.

The demos were attended by the Air Forces of Malaysia, Thailand and the Arab Emirates, that evaluated the C-27J with great interest. The aircraft proved its remarkable reliability and capacity of adaptation to different operating theatres.

During the demotour the aircraft performed its 500^th flight since the start of the program (its first flight took place in September 1999) and once again showed its uncommon takeoff and landing capabilities even in short and semi-prepared strips.

The Greek Ministry of Defence has recently chosen the C-27J as a tactic transport aircraft for the Greek Air Force. The negotiations for the supply of 12 to 15 aircraft are about to start, on an exclusive basis and without time restrictions.

The success of the C-27J in Greece's MRTA program (Medium Range Tactical
Aircraft) saw the Italian aircraft prevail over its international competitors, particularly the C-295 developed by the European company EADS-CASA.

Alenia Aeronautica, Lochkeed Martin's partner in the C-27J program, is making huge investments in the promotion of the aircraft - such as the recent demotour in Scandinavia, where the aircraft was evaluated by the Air Forces of Finland, Sweden and Norway.

After completion of the development and certification stages with the release of the Military Omologation by the MOD’s National Armaments Aeronautics Directorate, an agreement will soon be signed with the Italian Air Force for the supply of twelve aircraft that will replace the G222 aircraft presently in service.

The C-27J is part of a bid for the supply of twelve aircraft to the Brazilian Air Force and is now being evaluated by the Air Forces of Scandinavia, Arab Emirates and Malaysia.

A seguito del notevole successo riscosso in occasione del salone Asian Aerospace di Singapore, il velivolo da trasporto militare C-27J (NC4115) ha effettuato un demotour in Estremo Oriente e in Medio Oriente, conclusosi il 14 marzo scorso.

Nel corso delle dimostrazioni, il C-27J è stato valutato dalle Forze Aeree di Malesia, Thailandia e degli Emirati Arabi, riscontrando ovunque un grande interesse e dimostrando le notevoli doti di affidabilità ed adattabilità ai diversi scenari operativi.

Durante il demotour il velivolo ha effettuato il suo 500° volo dall’inizio del programma (primo volo nel settembre 1999).

E’ recente la decisione da parte del Ministero della Difesa greco di selezionare il C-27J come velivolo da trasporto tattico per le Forze aeree elleniche. Le trattative in esclusiva, senza termini temporali, inizieranno a breve e saranno finalizzate alla fornitura di 12-15 esemplari.

Il successo del C-27J nel programma greco MRTA (Medium Range Tactical
Aircraft) ha visto prevalere il velivolo italiano sulla concorrenza internazionale, in
particolare sul C-295 della società europea EADS-CASA.

Alenia Aeronautica, partner di Lochkeed Martin nel programma C-27J, sta impegnandosi fortemente nella campagna promozionale del velivolo, come dimostra anche il recente demotour effettuato in Scandinavia, dove il C-27J è stato valutato dalle Forze Aeree di Finlandia, Svezia e Norvegia.

Dopo il completamento delle fasi di sviluppo e di certificazione, culminate con il rilascio della certificazione militare da parte della Direzione Generale Armamenti Aeronautici, è imminente da firma del contratto con l’Aeronautica Militare italiana per la fornitura di dodici aerei che andranno a sostituire i velivoli G222 attualmente in servizio.

Il C-27J è in gara per la fornitura di dodici aerei all’Aeronautica Militare brasiliana ed è attualmente in fase di valutazione da parte delle Forze Aeree di Scandinavia, Emirati Arabi e Malesia.
